HERE’S THE SCOOP! I aim to create a warm, relaxed and inviting environment, creating images that are genuine and highly emotive. Your maternity sessions are highly personal.
TIME: A session takes up to 2 hours. We will stop for breaks, stretching, snacks, and changes as needed.
WHAT TO WEAR: For our expecting moms we have a select wardrobe to choose from. All portraits are respectfully photographed in good taste, and nudity is always optional and discreet. We make sure you are comfortable with the various. poses, each session tailored. for individual needs. Makeup and hairstyling are your call!
Suggestions on what to bring: jewelry, ultrasound photos, hats, scarves, boy shorts, even cute boots! Many pregnant clients opt to go barefoot, but others bring choices—everything from Converse sneakers to heels! For men, we suggest solid, simple clothing. Little boys should be similar to Dad, and both can wear a light or dark shirt (textures are okay). For little girls, the options are plenty.
WHEN TO BOOK: Typically, the best time to schedule your pregnancy session is around 28-34 weeks, but of course this varies with each woman. The idea is to come when you are comfortable, and have a nice, round belly. Come when you feel good! It is best to schedule at least 1-2 weeks in advance, but if you near the end of your term and need a session, just call so we can fit you in!
To book a date, you need to submit a deposit (the full session fee). If you schedule your session at least 2 weeks prior to the date, you may mail a check, but will also need to provide a credit card if you want to “hold” the date. If you book a date less in advance, you will need to pay with a credit card on the session date.
GIFT CERTIFICATE: Gift cards are available, and can be used for the session fee or package. Our gift cards come beautifully packaged with all necessary information. Baby Shower Registries also available!
CANCELLATION POLICY: All emergency appointment cancellations may be rescheduled. The client has up to 2 weeks to reschedule before losing the deposit. If the second appointment is also cancelled (or if a client schedules an appointment, pays the fee, but does not reschedule), the deposit is lost.
Your pre-portrait planning session, the actual session time, the sales session appointment and if needed an in home design meeting.
Session Fee: $295
I Believe in Photographs
I believe in photography – but more than that I believe in photographs. Printed photographs are tangible. We can hold on to them, pass them around, frame them and hang them on a wall. Portraits albums can be treasured and looked through by children for years to come. I am without a doubt passionate about creating photographs – real pictures – printed on professional papers. I want your children, their children, my children and future grandchildren looking at and holding onto tangible photographs.
I believe the best way to provide expectational service to all of my clients is to present them with beautiful professionally finished work.
Handing them a flash drive or a DVD and sending them on their way is not the best representation of my work or the value I place on photographs.
I believe in printing my work professionally by professional labs. The photographs I create are not only precious to my clients but they are precious to me too. It is my work, a lifetime of work that deserves to be printed. Can you imagine a floppy disk, a DVD or a flash drive sitting in a frame representing your family portraits? We can’t touch a file and the truth is we don’t know the longevity of a file or if we will even be able to find it someday. A digital file is a bit of a mystery – if it’s lost, where did it go? If a drive is damaged what happens to the files? How many people truly back up all their images or ever print their digital files? When was the last time you printed your own pictures? How many pictures do you have on your computer that are still not printed?
I believe not all labs are created equally. Quality printing is not something the corner drug store offers. Professional labs have strict quality control and print my work to my standards. As an artist I am a perfectionist when it comes to cropping, color, density, and print quality and chose to maintain control over these variables.
I understand that in this age of digital technology you want to share images through social media and view them on portable devices. For this reason, I offer web-friendly and device optimized images. The images are not formatted for printing and contain a signature watermark.
Device Friendly Digital Images
High resolution digital files are not offered for reproduction. We do offer social media and personal device friendly images. These are available to you once your order is complete and picked up. Once an image is purchased for print the shareable file is available to you. The purchase of our signature Image Box or Album will include all the matching shareable files. These images are low resolution and watermarked with our logo.
